the siderealist
Eric was an amazing Astrologer, he had been using this divination tool since the 1970's originally working with both the Tropical and Sidereal Astrology Systems, that is until he discovered the 13 Signs that is based on true Astronomical Data in 2011. Sadly Eric transitioned in 2019 and is deeply missed by our original 13 Star Sign Community.

Eric was a dear friend and great mentor to me on my initial journey with 13 Star Sign Astrology. I speak more about Eric in my Rastar Map Section of this website. Eric was an activist for human rights and was ardent in revealing the truth of 13 Star Sign Astrology. Whilst Eric tapped more into the time when Isis ruled our world, after the death of Osiris, I have gone back further in history to when Osiris ruled the world. So whilst my version may be slightly different from Eric's, it's very much on par with my own research, which was greatly encouraged by Eric. Eric's perception of Ophiuchus is truly valid and fully supported by me and this will become more apparent when I publish my book(s) on our 'True History' and '13 Star Sign Astrology'.
OPHIUCHUS - The Power of Women
By eric seligson
Women Control the World
Ophiuchus: Born Nov 30 – Dec 17
Ophiuchus Sun is imbued by a belief system that is both feminine and intuitive. Since Ophiuchus has been repressed and persecuted by both civil and church authority, the native will be reticent and tend to hide their true identity, especially in a social setting. They will want to form a tight circle of friends around them, and will want to dominate family members as a reflexive response to the loss of autonomy that family systems demand of them. Control of their own lives and the indulgence of secret desires will prevail as the motivations for their actions and associations. Only by a kind of absolutism and superiority can they be reassured that they are safe from attack. This is reinforced by their early childhood experiences of being persecuted in school, and a general feeling of alienation from the rest of their peers. Only those who will willingly fall under their spell are trusted. Since Ophiuchus represents the “mystery” of life, and the unity of opposing forces, yin and yang, Sun in that sign can alternate from hot to cold instantaneously and explosively, and react defensively until they feel they are on secure ground. Sun-Ophiuchus people will unconsciously be searching for the lost temple of Ophiuchus, a place where they can practice their healing arts without interference from man’s institutions and authority, which they instinctively hate. In the temple, they can offer a myriad of ideas and nurture their disciples without fear of suffering the fate of the witch, which is death by fire. Ophiuchus has been accused of sorcery throughout modern history, since their shamanic powers have been misunderstood and Ophiuchans have been scapegoated and abused by the both church and state since the destruction of the tribal system, which had elevated them to a high-status position as healers, midwives, herbalists and astrologers. In order to survive their loss of status and genocide, they are conditioned to resort to disguise and subterfuge, using their gender-fluid capabilities to confuse and confound their enemies. Sun in Ophiuchus natives can change their gender appearance at will, and both males and females can use cross-dressing to enjoy their independence and freedom from socially-imposed gender restrictions. In extreme cases, natives can become so alienated from what society expects of them, that they will become a very destructive and disruptive force, which only serves to underscore the fear and loathing of them that has lead to their persecution.

From: The Temple of Ophiuchus
Thousands of years ago women dominated human society. They were the clan leaders, hunters, astrologers, warriors and healers. We can only speculate about such antiquity because much of it lies beyond what is actually known or academically supported. However, astrology gives us a clue, since many original Zodiacal archetypes are female and were changed to men or animals by the Greeks and Romans. Ophiuchus, Aries, Leo and Taurus were all originally imagined as female symbols, only to be transmogrified much later into male stereotypes by politically-motivated male astrologers. The first human communities used a lunar calendar, where women were the center of the mystery and mastery of nature, and life itself. Women recognized their biological connection with the Moon early on, and then used it to predict the seasons and tell time. However, male supremacy and imperialism changed all that, replacing the original Zodiac with their own reductionist version, and relegating the roles of women to wives and whores.
It wasn't until 45 BCE, when the Julian calendar was introduced by its namesake, Julius Caesar, that a calendar based on the Sun's travel was created to challenge the long-established Lunar calendar. Even so, it wasn't until the 16th century when the Gregorian calendar (named for Pope Gregory XII) replaced the Julian, that the solar calendar was rectified, although Modern "tropical" astrologers still use the Julian calendar (which ignores the precession of the equinoxes) for their calculations. The Moon still underwrites Islamic, Chinese and Hebrew calendars, which are based on the Lunar year and the Moon's travel.
Before their downfall to the onslaught of empires, as far back as human memory can be ascertained, women organized early tribes and human activity. Pre-Nubian cave paintings, like the one above (and other archaeological evidence) suggests that women were the major element in early human interaction, and also that with animals. Ancient societies may have been polyandrous, where women were able to access men as a tool of their fertility, even before men understood their role in the process. No man possessed them like property, since women had command of the knowledge of nature, celestial events, and their wombs. In early societies, women may have had to upgrade men from the wild animal in the same way they domesticated dogs. Men eventually turned the tables on women's leadership by conquering them, taking away their voice and powers on Earth, and eliminating Ophiuchus as a symbol of the emancipated and mysterious female in the skies. As Kate Millet pointed out in her book, Sexual Politics:
"In history; vast numbers of peoples have worshiped the phallus openly. It may also be true that ever larger numbers of peoples once worshiped the womb or the fertility powers of the Earth. It may also be true that one of the many causes for the commencement of that now-universal oppression and contempt for women lay in the male's very fear of the female powers of giving life and perhaps inspired that enormous change in world affairs we call the patriarchal take-over. Living so close to the Earth, without having yet developed toys of his own in warfare and the rise of princely city-states full of toiling slaves building him empty monuments, and unaware of his own vital role in conception the male may well have past glances of envy on the woman and what was – in those conditions – her miraculous capacity to bring another human life out of her very belly – and seen in it a connection with the phases of the moon, and the seasons of the earth's vegetation – and stood both in awe and terror – and finally in hatred – and decided to cast this function down from what he rather naturally I assumed was its collusion with the supernatural, the terrible, the uncontrollable forces of nature – and denigrate it to the level of the the bestial, the pernicious and the obscene. And thus the filthy totem was appropriated by the male and taboo assigned in a thousand ways to operate against the female."
Every Ophiuchus is keenly aware of this inheritance of intolerance and violence used against them. To reveal her ancient superiority has often meant death for her sign, or any other woman or man who recognized female intelligence. Anybody who remembered the power women once held was the enemy of the new world order of man. So Ophiuchus is the introvert, the one with a secret. Ophiuchus spends time alone, and is anti-social in groups they can't dominate or trust. That's why Ophiuchus conceals her insights, her desires, even her sexual orientation. The single most important thing for Ophiuchus is survival, because in her lies the survival of the female, and thus, the species. Knowledge is not dry facts but insight found through a deep fear of death. Ophiuchus shuns those they fear or those who might hurt them. Ophiuchus uses mind control and ingratiates themselves with their enemies, the easier to work behind the scenes. When Ophiuchus strikes back, it is seen by men's authority as the original terrorism, a revival of the power that they cannot annex or replace.
Ophiuchus forms covens, groups centered around secret information and conspiracy. Ophiuchus can open up a can of worms, if they want. They are the caretakers of all scandals that Scorpio dug up in a previous incarnation. Ophiuchus can bring down others, they can destroy their tormentors, they have the ability to fool the eye and the heart. No one will know what the Ophiuchus is really thinking. They carry an aura of unseen strength and live in a figurative cave.

Medusa is Ophiuchus with bad press
The 13 eponymous (named) constellations were truncated to a 12-sign and 12 house system by the Romans with the "tropical" Julian calendar. The Roman astronomer Ptolemy completed what the legions started, to separate the female from her mythology of power. The Romans killed shamans and destroyed matriarchal leadership; Ptolemy did his part by deleting Ophiuchus from the Zodiac.
Thirteen is a number associated with women, a year's full Moons and menstrual cycles, and by extension, fertility and female leadership. Thirteen is only "unlucky" to men; it's the number of the female goddess by default. Thirteen is part of a lunar matriarchal society that presaged the Roman empire, and was ruled by the Moon. The lunar calendar has 13 months, each with 28 days (with one day left over). The Solar calendar has 12 months with varying days, and 1/4 of a day left. In the solar calendar, two full moons per month is a fairly common occurrence. This anomaly, like others, serves to minimize the female experience, as it does the importance of the Moon's phases in the Solar calendar. Like history books, the calendars are also written by the victors.

"The Romans destroyed the female power base by fire and steel, and Ptolemy likewise enslaved her astrology in service of Roman aggression and its bloody atrocities. Modern Tropical astrology is the spawn of the apologists and propagandists of male tyranny, and its use is actually a genuflection to an ideology that represents the worst of human nature."
An Indictment of Roman Astrology
Ophiuchus is a goddess that men and their patriarchy have suppressed, but failed to destroy. In spite of persecution since Babylonian times, Ophiuchus, both male and female, has hunkered down and survived. They defend themselves with mystery and disguise. They surround themselves with outcasts, children, cats and potions. Ophiuchus lays in wait until the critical moment, and then risks everything. The logic of this sign is the universal idea of the moth-to-the-butterfly. Likewise, they represent the shedding of the skin by snakes. Snakes are the icon of a secret knowledge; poisons, serums and spells. Ophiuchus is also dangerous and unpredictable, her senses tuned to an invisible frequency that her enemies can't hear.
The totem and talisman of Ophiuchus is the snake, as the mark of inscrutable wisdom and rebirth. Yet snakes are also man’s traditional enemies; paralyzing him and striking at him suddenly, filling him with dread. The snake still threatens the hunter and interloper, trampling on its territory, and therefore snakes are still subject to instant death on sight. The patriarchy has treated Ophiuchus in the same way. By associating Ophiuchus with their own fears, men separated them from power and tried to eradicate her from posterity and memory.
Modern man has used a propaganda and media war against Ophiuchus, depicting her as irrelevant or unnecessary, denigrating her coven as a nest of vipers. The penalty for anyone working on behalf of women's rights is the same now as it was in ancient times: hatred and murder. Man’s jealousy of the female have led him to send assassins and launch armies to destroy her as a matter of fact, in the same way white supremacists viewed lynching a runaway slave. Look no further than the fate of the mythical Medusa, the "protectress and guardian" of the female. She was defamed and destroyed. Men characterized her dreadlocks as a mantle of poisonous vipers, and claimed one glance from her could turn a man to stone. Her murder was a forgone conclusion. Even her severed head had amazing powers.
Beyond the myth, in reality man has acted with aggression against women disguising murderous intent with a "legitimate request" Women were reduced to possessions as a general principle that all great religions share. As for the women's goddess, Ophiuchus, man has been relentless in his attacks on her magical and profound creativity. Both the republics of ancient Greece and the Roman Empire shared a common goal: to enslave Ophiuchus and her sisters, those who held power in ancient tribal organizations, and reduce them into subhuman bondage, while stealing their discoveries.

"There is no need to fear the snake, if you leave it unmolested, yet mankind has a passion for killing the snake, as well as what it represents in human existence. Men fear and revere the snake, much as they also fear and revere women’ sexuality. They worship the womb and revile the yoni. This is the dilemma at the core of men's connection with women, and the resulting need to control women and her power. Even today men have scant understanding of the female sex and even less of her vagina. Men have tried to control the secret life of women by dominating them and murdering them when deemed necessary. This is the fundamental judgment men all face, their complicity in the oppression of women. To aid in their denial of this, men have hunted down rebellious women and tried to destroy them, rejecting even the most mundane symbols of their power, the number 13, the cooking pot, black cats, herbs and healing tonics--and all the other paraphernalia with which Ophiuchus surrounds herself. Yet with all their plunder of women, their exploitation of women, no man has or ever will succeed in her creation, no matter to what magic or mayhem they avail themselves"

The Book of Ophiuchus
If Scorpio is the rising phallus, then Ophiuchus is the womb. The power of the female sexuality and fertility is at the center of the women's mystery and mastery. Man's awe, and subsequent fear of the vagina--his passageway to immortality--has led to his attempts to control and suppress women. The vagina was a source of life and the womb, a temple to the mysteries of life. Within occurred a miracle that made men supplicate themselves to women and respect their authority. Women won control of the tribal unit because they were able to live in harmony with nature and predict its repeating cycles. They developed domesticated animals, agriculture, and learned to tell time, track the seasons and eclipses, and predict their own fertility and menstrual cycles. Then they turned to the heavens and deciphered the planets and stars and their movements, staring with the Moon. They found their own identities as females in Ophiuchus and the other constellations. Females earned their right to leadership as crones; women who made the decisions. As tribalism gave way to feudalism, women became an obstacle to the "genius" of imperialism. Man's rule was brought forth by violence, not love, and he used it to eradicate powerful women who stood in its way. The magic vagina became an object of lust and the sacred womb a factory for breeding.
The Romans turned women, their healers and prophets, into slaves, and the Ophiuchus has the pugnacity of the ex-slave, still stinging from the lash, or her death by flames. Ophiuchus was actually exterminated as a social class as well as deleted from the Ptolemaic calendar in 1100 ACE. They are feared and hated as witches ever since. In a genocidal purge, the Roman Catholic Church burned countless women during the "Dark Ages" in Europe as a matter of policy. The mass extermination only increased during the so-called age of enlightenment, which further marginalized the astrologer, herbalist and midwife. Instead of integrating Ophiuchus as part of our Universe, mankind has chosen to repress, renounce and ripoff the mysterious powers that each and every Ophiuchus has in his or her collective memory. It is no wonder that Ophiuchus can have a hunted look and often wishes to stay in the background. They use disguises to avoid revealing their identity, even to their intimate friends and lovers. It's a very brave Ophiuchus that will stand up to persecution; they've had enough of death.
The Romans officiated a long term misogynist backlash against women that also removed Ophiuchus from the series of eponymous constellations of the Zodiac. Ophiuchus is the symbol of the snake handler—perhaps she was the first to cure snakebites. She was replaced by a bearded man who appears to be wrestling a cobra, the "first doctor" according to modern astrologers. Then Ophiuchus was downsized, as the horoscope, the wheel of life, closed into a smaller circle of 12 signs, shunning her. The ejection of Ophiuchus and the downfall of the lunar-based societies occurred at the same time, and for the same reasons: men wanted to conquer land and make slaves of the tribal people. Starting in the 14th century in Europe, Pope Gregory XI's obsession with "satanic" women meant near extermination of healers, herbalists, midwives, anyone who arose suspicion with the Inquisition.
The Catholic church presided over the torture and murder of anyone who they accused of witchcraft. They even killed the feral cats they assumed were Satan's minions, so much so that it may have contributed to the onslaught of rats and gerbils which carried the Bubonic Plague to Europe. To this day the hatred of the crone, or female savant, is still part of our pop culture, even as a Halloween cartoon character.

Her Modern Tribulation
The major problem with the newest generations of Ophiuchus (and all women born in the 1980s when the major planets transversed that sign) is how to end centuries of oppression in one generation! Ophiuchus was dethroned because she is a harbinger of women's political clout, and thus the oppression of Ophiuchus underscores the injustices suffered by all women.
What ancient Ophiuchus brought to the world, all the creativity and phenomena, has been cheapened into superstition, affectation and mockery of her power. The term "witch" is a curse from the lips of men and the detriment of his organized religions. Female wisdom is an object of hate and disgust. The powerful woman is a bitch. The female body is a den of sin. In almost every profession and walk of life, women have had to overcome unimaginable obstacles. For thousands of years, women's roles have been subject to manipulation and criminalization. This outrage is now the subject of intense scrutiny and discussion in our time. Feminism and women's rights are embedded into our consciousness as part of a world-wide struggle for equality.
Yet the wall of silence still exists. In astrology, which was designed by women, a new men's version of it has all but erased her from the heavens! Tropical astrology is man's astrology, and without Ophiuchus in the Zodiac, astrology is not playing with a full deck. This will always put Ophiuchus in conflict with the solar-based 12 sign system. Even with the widespread acceptance of the solar calendar in Western countries, the lunar calendar is revered by many indigenous peoples, and is used all over the world alongside the solar version. The lunar calendar never went away, it just had to lay low to survive, like Ophiuchus herself.
In our era of war and austerity, the power of women and the coven is making a comeback with a new manifestation. Ophiuchus, the homeless goddess, is searching for a new temple. This will include all of the elements of the female, even her darkest incarnations, like Lilith and the Black Moon. A new-found courage has swept through Ophiuchus and this sign has become the core of the "resistance" to male hegemony.
The nature of Ophiuchus is like ether, with all its chemical applications, as well as its power to induce sleep. This agent can be used for good or evil, since it's like releasing a cloud of explosive gas. Otherwise, Ophiuchus can overwhelm the senses the way the earth spawns clouds of butterflies. She uses sensory messaging to uncover our darkest secrets, including and starting with our sexuality. That's why we can see a swift turn towards a new "secular humanism" and towards a deeper regard for sexual identity as fluid and self-discovered. Ophiuchus is working for individual freedom.
Once silenced by a male-dominated media, women have seized on the web to regain their voice. Overall, they use social networks in greater numbers then men. They dominate many of the largest platforms from Facebook to Pinterest and have used them to find affinity and take back their collective strength. Literacy and education has been historically been denied to women way before the invention of the printing press; history and literature is mostly written by men because they have decided what can be published, but that privilege is crumbling away before our eyes. The Internet has enabled women to bypass old media and create content and post it, unencumbered, straight to the public record.

Origins of Ophiuchus
The true nature of Ophiuchus can be traced back to Isis and Nephthys, sisters in ancient Egyptian mythology who used their power to bring Osiris back from the dead (see figure below). Ophiuchus is the embodiment of this magic—the Egyptians were experts at many potions, preservatives, herbs and poisons that are still a mystery, and mummification techniques that rival modern embalming methods.
Over the years, the original intent and description of the Zodiac has changed radically. Everything has been done for the convenience of astrologers. It may be that the truth is more complex than even a Sidereal system—which is also based on 12—can reveal. The true ecliptic includes the constellation Ophiuchus, which really completes the wheel.
"Nephthys helped Isis gather the dismembered body parts of her husband Osiris after he had been murdered by envious Set. Nephthys was known as the ruler over one of the darker aspects of Egyptian death ceremonies, the Canopic jars. These jars were the keepers of the vital organs of those who were deceased. I have to say she is indeed the Goddess to look to when you are at that place in your life when you are ready to take her hand, and let her lead you down the path of spiritual death, to anew. And then Isis, her sister, will be there waiting for you to help you start your new life."

"What you are, you are by accident of birth; what I am, I am by myself. There are and will be a thousand princes; there is only one Beethoven."

Ophiuchus and Ether: Disruption and Change
The times we live in determines how celestial influences affect us. Animals and the early humans were directly influenced by the planets and stars. They lived and died according to the cycles, with no consciousness of what they were. Like the seasons, they came and went independently of all mankind's protestations and prayers. Ozymandias couldn't hold back the tides, and was swept away, because they were controlled by the cycles of the Moon, and man's puny magnificence was no match for them. Ozymandias claimed immortality, but it was sheer hubris to expect that the Moon would cede it to him.
Our modern world is filled with latter-day Ozymandias hopefuls, who want celestial influence to pass through the filter of their own perceptions, and their political and economic systems. The Moon, however, operates on its own, and only answers to its orbit. Like the Moon, Astrology, once the aspiration to the higher being through understanding nature, can always be hijacked by charlatans to encourage self-gratification, and onanism of the spirit. We are constantly reminded that the Sun and Moon and the planets don't care, nor do they take sides, nor play by our rules, and will not guarantee our hopes and dreams. They move with their own rationale, defined by an eternal, galactic law that we often don't want to accept. The universe can appear chaotic to us, just as much a disrupter as a comfort to us. But nature occurs in seasons, and the planets move in cycles. We may attempt to trivialize them, but they are eternal compared with us. Nature is guided by the planets and the heavens guide our lives. The stars emerge out of the plasma of space and are propelled by forces beyond our comprehension. The spectrum of the galaxies is the macrocosm of what nature is on earth. As stars live and die, so do we. Nature rules all.

The Polarity of Ophiuchus
Ophiuchus represents the natural law and its changes; she appears out of the ether, a substance of ineffable transformation and marvel. Astrology tells us that ether is the "element" of Ophiuchus. Ether has a spiritual and material meaning in astrology, since in early times it was the only known catalyst for chemical reactions and detonation. Ether also had the amazing power to take away pain, but behind its mundane uses, ether also represented polarity, as two extremes working in tandem. Over 3,000 years ago, the Chinese designated ether as the centerpiece for a universal law of the unity of opposites, as expressed with Yin and Yang symbols. This set ether apart from other substances, since, for then-unknown reasons, ether was unpredictable and volatile, just as likely to blow up in our faces as to provide us with blessings. Ether was anointed with miraculous powers of transformation, even the mistaken idea it had the power to change lead to gold. Ether facilitated a sudden move from yin to yang, and back, effortlessly and if by magic.
Man could not control ether, however. Ether had its own life and dynamic and early metaphysicians wracked their brains to manipulate it, but failed. Ether has singular chemical properties, and the changes it produces are not a result of our needs or desires, or magic incantations; but are driven by an inherent logic that defied man's puny efforts to exploit it. Thus the association of magic with ether, but in the event, ether, like magic, doesn't hold up to man's expectations of it which are selfish and unscientific. The same can be said of Ophiuchus.
Ophiuchus is not the servant of man
Looking at the nature of ether is like looking at the meaning of Ophiuchus. She represents both the perilous danger and the hope of change, depending on what you can lose or gain. Ophiuchus, a female deity, was pegged as a saboteur of man's institutions, because she guarded the temple of women, a shrine to natural law. She was, and is, a disrupter of man's world. Ophiuchus was summarily removed from the Zodiac by male astrologers in an attempt to negate female power. During the inquisition, the Roman church viewed Ophiuchus (and the number 13) as the devil's work, and killed thousands upon thousands of innocent women and girls, and even men who associated themselves with them, as reprisals against women's human rights. They killed Ophiuchus (or so they thought) to underscore an annexation of women's capabilities and their freedom. Mainstream pseudo-astrology today is a reactionary quagmire, a continuation of the enslavement of women, and a distorted view of the universe. Tropical astrology is a throwback to the degradation of women, a continuing attempt by misogynists and quacks to rewrite history and deny the astronomical facts.
Yet, Ophiuchus the female does exist in our mythology and is part of astrological lore, regardless of the subterfuge of tropical astrologists. Ophiuchus is the constant reminder that nature is more powerful than men's armies and kingdoms, a fact that drives them crazy.
Angry Ophiuchus?
Two perceptions of Ophiuchus
Men are scared of women's power because she stands in the way of their determination to exploit and usurp nature and to deny their own mortality. Women's bodies are the inherent acceptance of natural law, as in their covenant with birth and death. In this dispensation of consciousness, what's good for women is bad for men. Where would men get their slaves and concubines if Ophiuchus was the guide for our imaginations and incantations? Men therefore regard Ophiuchus as a poisonous infection; yet women regard her with reverence and love. Ophiuchus can't and won't alter herself to suit anyone. When this celestial goddess changes form, it's only in the way men and women see her differently, as an aspect of her polarity and a reaction to which of us is in control. Ophiuchus isn't two-faced, it's which face we see when we gaze at her constellation. Men instinctively see her as Medusa, the monster. Women see her as a healer and an advocate.
The imperialistic aims of male domination aren't served by her. Ophiuchus isn't here to help man, but to destroy his ridiculous edifices and conceits, to protect women from harm. The evil that men perceive is a fiction they generate to justify enslaving women. To them, Ophiuchus, like Lilith and the Black moon, involves retribution and revenge, a threat to their hegemony. As they drive society into a man-made crisis, the only vision they have of Ophiuchus is as an obstacle to power. This is so persistent, that men have actually created in Ophiuchus, and nature herself, the very image they fear most: the snake; cold and self-interested, with the power to strike suddenly from the shadows. For Ophiuchus, the snake represents knowledge; for man, it is the symbol of death.
Yet, by another standard, Ophiuchus is the healer. She repopulates the Earth and restores it. She comes to us to rectify the imbalances and injustice perpetrated by man. How she accomplishes this is up to her, and the weapons she has at her disposal. The hopes of a return to natural law also means the loss of faith in the laws of mankind, and his armies and kings. Ophiuchus is a law-breaker and a implacable foe to man's arrogance. Need proof? Look at how easily women can topple the sexual predators in our midst. As if by a single sweep of her hand, Ophiuchus can blow their cover and expose them like maggots under a rock.
However, good or bad, Ophiuchus of either stripe isn't on-call like a bellhop. When we open the doors of perception, we can't predict what will emerge, or the means by which Ophiuchus operates.
Ophiuchus isn't always aligned with women, or even humanity. This supports the paradigm of the shadow epiphany of Ophiuchus as a maniac and a mass-murderer, and an anti-social trickster. Let's take a more current example. If we view Donald Trump (with his Moon in Ophiuchus) as the answer to a dying empire, to Make America Great Again, we are seeing her as a tool of capitalism. Yet, she may also be materializing as the force that is pushing mankind into the abyss, as if the only change possible is through a painful journey. If we see Ophiuchus in her darkest incarnation, what Trump represents and what he is doing makes perfect sense. He is leading us down the path of destruction by accelerating mankind's decline. He uses his sorcery to hold millions of people under his spell. Trump is leading his followers into insanity and death. Inevitably, the end of man's violence is always attended by his own destruction; as war begets peace, and evil is supplanted by the good. The end of any spell is like a bubble being pricked, and its subsequent repudiation. Trump holds the power now, but natural law will sweep away his power like the ocean drowned Ozymandias. The message of Ophiuchus to mankind is that fools die without wisdom; that the Colossus will fall before any healing can take place.

The Yin and Yang of existence
Ophiuchus represents the natural law and its changes; she appears out of the ether, a substance of ineffable transformation and marvel. Astrology tells us that ether is the "element" of Ophiuchus. THE ZODIAC HAS 13 SIGNS
Forget astrology as you know it. The back-page, popularized "Tropical" astrology that we are all familiar with is bogus. It doesn't even qualify as a pseudo-science, just an old one. The degrees and signs are all wrong. Today's astrology is bad astronomy. Tropical astrology has a static view from 2,000 years ago. Astronomic fact proves it. The numbers are off. The signs are wrong. If there's a choice between the wrong degree and the right degree, why do we hesitate? We have to choose Astronomy over tropical astrology, because star-gazing is and always has been at the core of astrology. How can astrology work, if it's not astronomically correct?
Assyrian depiction of the eight pointed star of Venus, right, the Moon and Solar disk, left, with its four axes and four intercalated solar rays [source]
For 6,000 years, astronomy and astrology were inseparable. The astrologer and the astronomer were the same person! The two fields of study used the same map of the stars. Today however, astronomy is the reality, and astrology is the fallacy. Astrology has spurned science, and wanders at the fringes of incredulity.

Astrology is Broken
How did this happen? Most European and American astrologers use a system that doesn't match up to the sky anymore. They have tried to stop the time. Planets and objects in space are NOT where they say they are. Any horoscope made using Tropical astrology is a fraud. If we used their horoscope charts the way we use maps, we'd never reach our destination. That's why NASA doesn't use it, and astronomers think astrologers are idiots.
The majority of American astrologers are still using the horoscopes that only work for 100 ACE/AD. The Earth's rotational "wobble" has made it necessary to adjust the signs backwards 30 degrees or more since that time. But these astrologers don't do it, so their tropical system gets more inaccurate every day like a cheap watch.
How has astrology been reduced to little more than a superstition? Astrologers in Rome used it as a shill to glorify the old emperor, Augustus, who died around 40 ACE. The Romans changed it around to serve Rome, not the truth. They doomed modern astrology to replicate their propaganda ever since. Aside from the aspects and houses, tropical astrology would never get it right again.
Who Screwed Astrology?
Ptolemy: was he just wrong, or did he sell out?
The astrological view of the ecliptic was bastardized for the purposes of the Roman war-and-slaves machine, courtesy of Ptolemy, a second-rate astrologer who also believed the Sun revolved around the Earth. He not only forgot the precession of the equinoxes, (see below) but changed the gender and positions of the signs, based on the wishes of his imperial masters. Astronomy was thrown out the window.
By shackling the Zodiac to the Earth's seasons, he froze the vernal equinox at the Aries Spring of his era, even though it is moving backwards at a rate of 1 degree every 75 years. This meant that his version would not be accurate in the future. Today, spring occurs in March, during Pisces, making Ptolemaic astrology a relic. The Greeks and Romans also eliminated the powerful female constellations, or shortchanged their signs to animals. They killed Ophiuchus, the guardian of women.
Today, astrologers still use the Roman astrology, and more than 80% of us are told the wrong sign. Even if you don't believe in astrology you get bombarded with the wrong information. Finding the truth is easy, just look at the sky. Better yet, get a (free) planetarium app, Stellarium, and see it on your computer.

See Ophiuchus, the suppressed constellation? It's on the ecliptic, too, right after Scorpio. It's one of the original 13 eponymous signs, which the tropical astrologers forgot to mention. The exclusion of Ophiuchus is the big lie that tropical astrologers have repeated so often that they themselves now believe it as fact.

Back to the Future
The way to change our astrology is to take it back to move it forward, using the ancient lunar-based 13-sign system that is still in accord with both NASA and the International Astronomical Union. 13 sign astrology solves all the problems of modern astrology, and puts us in sync with astronomy again. 13 sign astrology also resurrects the female signs of the original Zodiac and shows us are true signs, the way the universe intended. Science and astrology are reunited, and the horoscope is accurate once more.
Why are we still using a broken astrology at this late date? Now is time to change it. MORE
WHAT IS PRECESSION?
The point of equinox changes at about 50.29 arc seconds annually -- rotating backwards one degree every 75 years.
The 2 Theories About Precession
Our orientation to the larger universe is constantly shifting. There is something that causes the vernal equinox (the meeting place of the celestial and ecliptic plane) to go in a backwards cycle around the ecliptic, returning to its starting place over an estimated period of 26,000 years. This is called the precession of the equinoxes and it is why our first day of spring is always changing, moving backwards along the calendar days.
The reasons for the precession are unknown, but there are two main theories:
The Gravitational Theory
The precession is caused by the combined gravitational effects of the sun, moon, and the planetary components which act on the Earth’s equatorial bulge, like the motion of a spinning top. This torque causes a slight distortion in the shape of the Earth which slows it down.
The Binary System (Polarity Theory)
Every object in the Universe has its companion in space, even billions of light years away, yet they are connected by an invisible electric plasma (dark matter?) Our Sun with its solar system rotates in a binary orbit with a companion star, maybe an invisible brown dwarf. The whole solar system’s orientation to the fixed stars slows down, resonating and mirroring the invisible twin's movement.
The Binary theory has made a big comeback recently because of the the flaws in gravitational theory. MORE

THE 13 STAR SIGNS

ARIES - THE HAMMER (HAMAL)
APRIL 19 - MAY 13
There's a sublime simplicity in Aries: always ready for conflict. Aries cleaves others in thralls of self-possessed courage. Most Aries lead with their head and have scars to prove it. Aries IS Athena, before she was stripped of her gender by Ptolemy, and the sign reflects the fierceness of the angry female. Aries doesn't draw her strength from duty or design, or through intellect, like the other cardinal signs Capricorn, Cancer or Libra. She does it from a righteous fury and a need to slay the violating opponent. She is the huntress wolf, protecting the perimeter and providing the kill for the pack. She will always be the point guard, the scout, the explorer, the pioneer. Often Aries must climb that peak, out on a limb, risking everything on an impulse and by instinct. "To delay action is the same as death", is the rallying cry of Aries native V.I. Lenin that catalyzed his Bolshevik comrades to begin the Russian revolution. For Aries, timing is everything.
Mars as the ruling planet, and dominating the first house of personality, compels Aries to blast past introversion, prevarication, weakness and incompetence. The Aries undergoes a brutal initiation process to assume her power and supremacy over all others. She must learn to practice selflessness, forced humility before the powers that be (whether the patriarchy or her own gods) meanwhile sharpening her sword. Unlike the ordinary pilgrim and believer, Aries challenges the gods that she fears the most (and others follow), as if her prize of life is conquering the high peaks of Olympus that once held her in awe.
This is why the boss who has an Aries employee should always fear for his job, and Aries' lovers must always worry that when passions cool Aries will seek new sexual vistas. This is a fairly fortunate position for vitality and she has a robust constitution. Aries is the beginning of the Solar Zodiac but because of the precession of the equinoxes is so longer the harbinger of Spring, and has advanced into the 12th house sphere of the dark winter months of seclusion.
Aries ambitions aim high and they are quick to sense and take advantage of opportunities. Aries will casually move on from the smoking ruins that their scorched Earth policies create, wondering what the fuss is all about. Aries can be either a sexual predator or a sexual victim, which spotlights their range and their cupidity. This range of roles can and does shock anyone who thought they were on sure footing with the hard headed entrepreneur.
For Aries, it's the top of the mountain or death. They get to the top by one brazen leap after another. Yet Aries is also capable of filling positions of responsibility and prominence and can direct and manage other people skillfully. She insists on equal enthusiasm and compliance from family, partners, bosses and followers. Aries’ natural position is in the forefront, and that is where she gravitates. She only takes the back seat to draw a bead on a worthy opponent.
Aries is a hard working asset for any person or cause that she feels is worth the self-sacrifice of losing her ego. She calculates not the odds of winning, but the nobility of the cause and her own rewards. This is a fairly natural position for vitality, a relentless drive to rise in life at all costs. For the Aries, the message is: you can only be stopped by yourself.
They treat themselves with the same ferocity as one would an opponent. Met with opposition, the Aries can only respond with the anger of a soldier. Smote the enemy! The soul, however, cannot be dominated through annexation, and must reveal itself of its own free will. Because everything depends on self-confidence derived from recognition and public acclaim, Aries has but one unconditional lover and unconquerable foe: herself. All other comers can be confidently routed in the field by the ferocity of the Aries total-war strategy, and victory or death philosophy.
From the Book of Aries
"Aries is Joan of Arc, who loses herself into a cause greater than herself. Driven by her self-pronounced connection to god; hers is the story of the female exalted in war, the female who uses force and domination to achieve her goals. Joan saved the insipid Dauphin, gave him France and he returned the favor by conspiring against her with the church and had her burned at the stake. This is a common Aries theme of hopeless sacrifice.
The sign of Aries is also the living 90 degree square, an aspect of tension and stress-- and instant release. The difficulties at the beginning are the requisite calisthenics that build confidence and strength for the battle. Aries does it for the journey, as well as the payoff. The male Aries is a natural hero, or a cad, he will fight under any banner so long as it suits his needs, and fulfills his appetites. This male Aries is the relentless warrior that Jason himself couldn't vanquish because every time he threw him to the ground, he would rise again, stronger still. Jason finally won when he held Aries above his head-- Aries was no longer able to draw sustenance from the Earth. In Greek mythology, this was the only time that Aries has ever been beaten, because the Aries style of savage, full-on attack only works when Aries has the element of surprise."
TAURUS - THE COLLECTOR (ALDEBARAN)
MAY 14 - JUNE 20
Taurus' list of essentials is short and sweet: food, gold, sex, and a homestead in which to graze in their old age. They collect and protect whatever gives them physical pleasure. They have but one life on Earth and they want to make the most of it. For them there really isn't a pie-in-the-sky paradise waiting. Taurus' must accomplish their work in one lifespan. Their natural tendency is to follow the same course for a long time (and get it right) with comparatively little change; this enables them to pursue their purpose with steadfastness, patience, and quiet persistence. They will achieve long term substantive goals in this way, and be an example to others for their solid, teachable methods. They bequeath this to their descendants, to the world, or back to the Earth, dust to dust, the molecules never change. Taurus' hate illusions and despise charlatans, although they could easily lie or bend the truth if they wanted to, for profit, or to save money. It would be a typical Taurus impulse to cheat the the buyer, and to get the best deal. It enhances the Taurus love of tangible objects--all valuable objects, and the body, the most valuable. The body is all important, and its needs and desires can become overwhelming, like a bawling, needy child. This is perhaps why Taurus arrange their lives around the pleasures they allow themselves and treasure the most. You live in an existential dilemma of trying to build your future, and making yourself comfortable.
The danger of Taurus becoming obsessive, fetishistic, immobile, parochial and suspicious are ever present, and what was once their collection of treasures becomes a hoarder's clutter. The Taurus can achieve immanence--even notoriety, for their honesty and integrity. Whether it's gold coins or paper bags, the Taurus sees some value in everything. These characteristics may be directed either towards public affairs or money matters, and will tend to bring you prominence or success in the long run. The world loves a person who is good at his or her job. Taurus are also naturally affectionate and warm-hearted, as well as canny and reserved. You can also be quiet and self-contained at times. This is the classic man or woman of few words and lots of action. Note: Taurus has a distinctive, very destructive, very long-lived anger, when pushed too far. They can close up into a state of wounded non-communication and bitter anger for months or years, once wounded or attacked too often.
From The Book of Taurus:
“Taurus listens to sweet music pouring like a spring out of the mountain of our ancestral memories. The notes, strains and beats they hear come from the center of the Earth. They sleep with their ears to the ground to drink deep. Taurus are the children of the Earth, and Africa is their Mother. The drums of creation runs through the Taurus blood. In their collective consciousness, Taurus have been given dominion over the Earthly pleasures and stewardship over Earth’s resources. They preserve and protect what is beautiful. What they lack in faith or finesse, they make up for with an unutterable, unselfish love of music. The bestial urges of the bull are tamed with sweet melodies, Taurus' heavy feet are lifted off the ground, they alight with pure grace and beauty to dance to Venus' seductive suggestions. The music serves as muse for the Taurus, and with a song in their hearts, they can withstand any duress and endure any hardship."

GEMINI - THE POLITICIAN (POLLUX)
JUNE 21 - JULY 19
The mind, and the voice that comes with it, is Gemini's weapon. Victory comes from thinking faster and having more information than your competition. The greater mind controls lesser minds, there's a meritocracy of the gifted. Inside each Gemini is a clique of experts, geniuses, teachers, mathematicians, who stay only among themselves to the exclusion of others. For Gemini, their various personalities make up a mafia gang. These personalities are separate beings, members of the same family, or a private club or Illuminati. Gemini can control the world by questioning it, gathering information on it. Like a gang of NSA spies or salesmen, they can gather happily in their private garden, discussing outsiders like the indigenous people of America talked about the buffalo. Others are excluded unless they come to entertain or serve. Geminis have their private language (or languages) which is why they are able to pick up phrases and fake knowing a smattering of many languages. Gemini is a world citizen, a gambler without borders. They can wrangle themselves out of any jam, they are faster on the uptake than others and can out pace them in negotiations. They can become an evil puppeteer if they let it go to their heads. This superiority can collapse as the Gemini swoons over the stimulation from love, lust, rage, fame and fortune--but hardly the emotions attached to these. There is a psychological condition that is a coda for Gemini--schizophrenia, although in Gemini it's rarely pathological, it's an every day occurrence. Gemini embodies the bi-polar condition.
Just when you think you get them, Gemini will throw you off balance with a different, unfamiliar personality. Since you never know which of the members of group Gemini will show up for work, it’s a risk to like one. If you trigger certain responses, you’ll get the appropriate response. When you jangle Gemini, you might get the debonaire poet, the sexual slave, the lonesome cowboy, the political wonk, the snake-in-grass, the mafia hitman, you won’t know until it happens. Gemini is a private club, similar to a cult, the mafia, the hell's angles or the fire department.
Since the only time that the Gemini needs other humans is when he or she is curious--it can be said that the Gemini is also like the moth to the flame, especially in romantic matters which are out of their control. The picture of the intellectual falling for the showgirl is the type of thing that Geminis can't control. The mind is a fool in matters of the heart.
The Gemini has what other mutable signs wish they had, a big brother, a protector, or guardian star that would help them out in a jam, and Gemini has this person within them. The companions, siblings, or other groups of people available to the Gemini can all have different skill sets and attitudes, and the Gemini can flip through them like a deck of cards. Combine this with Mercury (Gemini's ruling planet) reputation for the slight of hand and trickery that people consider getting ripped off, and you can see why Geminis are often mistrusted--or misunderstood. In this way the Gemini finds it even more difficult to form associations with real people in the world as easily as he does with all his errant brothers and sisters in his head.
From the book of Gemini:
"And that's they key for the Gemini mind--the mind itself. It collects memories, from earliest times, pre-verbal and maybe in utterer. It also collects all information, from all sources, quite impartially. The information is stored, collated, but never judged or prioritized. The smallest whimsy can take on the same titanic impression as a real emotional catastrophe. The Gemini is in motion, the rolling stone that gathers no moss. Friends and lovers orbit Gemini, but never get intone the nucleus.
It must be said that the Gemini DOES feel remorse for de-friending people, it only occurs to them later, as a lost resource to further fulfillment of his curiosity or sexual chemistry. It's only a wise Gemini who can resist hypocrisy. The Gemini experiences life through the emotions of others, as the flame seeks fuel. This flickering, hungry (voracious some might say) appetite for information, licking at the heels of Gemini, relentless as the spider seeks the fly. The Gemini may likely be an existentialist who realizes this at a young age.
"The secret to the Gemini soul is that LIFE IS A GAME. Winning or losing both involve loss, involve the sadness of time forever passing unheeded. So the Gemini careens back and forth like a drunken gambler, remorseful of past losses, but ever hopeful of the big jackpot ahead. Others find this quality exciting, but ultimately insane. No one is as willing as the gemini to throw their lot in with the gypsies, to go as far as their challenged mind can take them. In for a penny, in for a pound. When the Gemini smells excitement, they're on the hunt like a bloodhound."
CANCER - THE THIRD EYE (AL TARF)
JULY 20 - AUGUST 9
This sign is closely linked with the Moon, and is always liable to be emotionally and physically influenced by the Moon's phases and eclipses. Some Cancers report the shape of their faces actually change with the waxing and waning Moon. This increases feeling and sensitiveness in you and gives you an inclination for home life and domesticity. You are naturally reserved and cautious, and you do not show your whole nature on the surface. In fact, you mirror others' needs and assumptions, based on your appearance or demeanor. Like the Moon, Cancers reflect the light cast upon them. The real Cancer is shrouded in mystery, with a dark side that is hidden and is the opposite of their nurturing maternal nature, and can be expressed as cruelty and arrogance. None the less, Cancers are protective of those they love; they hang on to them with the tenacity of the crab with its claws. This crab glyph really represents more than just the linkage with the Moon--it describes the molting of the Cancer, wherein it can shed their old skins to assume a larger, more magnificent suit of armor. Cancer is primarily interested in growth, and, much like the leaves of a vine, they will cover all they encounter. The Moon's phases regulate the oceans, fertility, and agriculture--and likewise, the Cancer must operate in sync with the natural cycles, which are often at odds with the needs of the rest of the world. This makes the level of secrecy in Cancers almost unfathomable to others.
The use of Cancer to describe disease is because it is the unwanted, uncontrolled growth of dysfunctional cells--much like the problem with Cancers who are locked into cycles that they cannot control. Since they work so well with secret agendas, Cancers are often actors, salespeople, managers, politicians (Barack Obama for example) and behind-the-scenes manipulators. Cancers DO change personalities the same way an actor changes hats, changes roles. The Cancer starts his/her cycle during the New Moon, when she/he determines her goals for the month—or the greater cycle she/he is aiming for. By visualizing, sharing, dramatizing, advertising, whatever, the Cancer has until the full Moon to realize the lunar "intentions". Many Cancers write these intentions down and keep them close to their bodies (under the pillow, in the pocket) to activate their powers of concentration.
They have tact and achieving success can be an act of faith. They must believe--and that comes from other's belief in them, which they can induce with their appearance and behavior. Cancers run on faith, hope and the belief in eternal cycles and without it they can become lost and deranged. Since balance cannot truly be achieved, the cancer must work within the system, and bide their time until the time is right. They can make headway in life by the exercise of prudence, care and economy; and this position gives some degree of business instinct and forethought, also adaptability for practical matters, whether in the household, in more public affairs, or in applied science. This is favorable for gain through the parents, and it inclines to the acquisition of house or land property and to dealing in these. In the case of elderly people this position is rather good for comfort and prosperity in old age. Their success in life will depend more than with most people upon a favorable environment; because if circumstances oppose them, they are apt to feel keenly a sense of being hampered, thwarted and restricted, and withdraw emotionally.
From the Book of Cancer:
"The ancient females who devised astrology saw that the Crab Nebula was the largest in the visible heavens—like a mother giving birth to galaxies. Cancer is the Mother of Heaven. The Arab astrologers named your star Al Tarf, which represents the Third Eye—the all-seeing wisdom of mother nature. The Leo huntress is looking through this Moon's "eye"—a throwback to and connection with our natural animal origins and instincts, and to a time when ALL humanity was directed and illuminated by the Moon, in the same way we use GPS and internet now. The Moon and Saturn were all-important indicators to the ancients, since they were considered benefactors and symbols of abundance.
"Cancers are still existing on a plane of a lunar Zodiac, the Moon's Nodes—their have a private world they inhabit, that soothes them and gives them encouragement. Cancer females—and many sensitive male Cancers—are a mystery but use powerful amulets, garments, and are part of a secret society based on dreams and occurring in natural cycles. This may be the real "politics". This is why we also associate Cancers with political leadership and cultural influence, since they can use their invisible connection with humanity to deliver the message. A Cancer can telegraph a political statement with a hat, a wink, a single gesture—that would take the typical solar-based pedant thousands of words to convey."
LEO - THE JUNGLE CAT (REGULUS)
AUGUST 10 - SEPTEMBER 15
Leos are the living advertisement of their own prerogative. You can’t separate fixed-sign Leos from what they feel because Leo IS what it feels. Leo lives by instinct. There is no artifice, no evolution, only the heart and the moment. Leos abide by no law except the law of the jungle.
The Leo ego is the beating heart. Leos speak from the heart—it aggrandizes them. Behind the display, though, is a puzzlement. Leos cultivate a heart-felt selfishness, the big ego: what’s best for them is also best for everybody! They think through themselves. They assume the rest of the world would be just as satisfied with the basic elemental aspects of life as the Leo. Why prevaricate? The complexity and purpose of human sacrifice, guilt, anxiety or perspicacity escapes them. The heart allows Leos to live only in the moment; the human memory is suppressed because it harms their egos and reduces the single-mindedness that they need for the hunt.
This gives them ambition, sexuality, aspiration, ardor, and determination. Their ego can never be defeated. They will die with it intact. It protects them and nurtures them. Lets possess good organizing ability, can manage and direct other people, are fitted for being at the head of affairs, and able to assume authority and command. If they exercise self-control they may achieve much success through strength of will and personal magnetism, and they will find they have a lot of advantages over other people who are weak. If they let this go to their head, they'll make mistakes. They have a great sense of personal dignity, and others will want to be around you to have some of it rub off. Be generous. They are warm-hearted, good-natured, sociable, loyal, generous and magnanimous. Unless they are blocked by forces beyond their control, they will attain a responsible or prominent position where they will have to direct or employ others, if nothing more than a "pride" of cubbies for whom they are the guardian. Their feelings and desires are ardent, they have a strong sense of the dramatic, and a love of beauty and luxury. When alert to sex or danger, they are at your most powerful and intense. They can return to the beast during sex, sleep, and eating. Their preferred relationship is someone who worships them.
From the Book of Leo:
"Leo isn’t just an animal, Leo is the king of the animals—putting itself above all others, and taking the best for itself. For each of its narrow feeding roles, the Leo excels. First we have the image of the huntress, Diana, with spear, sitting on the throne with her pet lions alongside her. Then Leo eats, rapaciously and ravenously; food is the prize. Then Leo wants sex, prowling for pheromonal females. Then Leo sleeps, reverently supplying its tremendous ego with the energy it needs to resuscitate.
Men and women Leos differ in important ways; The male Leo dominates; displays his libido, assumes rulership of the pride, defends the pride. What the male Leo does is kill. Anything or anybody that trespasses on his territory, or threatens his reign, including any male, even the cubs of other lions. The female Leo is the lifeline of the DNA, the center and creator of the pride, who provides food, suckles the cubs, organizes the females into a hunting posse, and is the mainstay of the Leo society. Male Leos are expendable and interchangeable, they come and go according to their ascending or waning power, and their ability to kill enemies. Females remain, persist and collectively build for the future as a group and a family. She passes the power on to the next strongest female."
VIRGO - THE WAY - THE BLUE SPARK (SPICA)
SEPTEMBER 16 - OCTOBER 30
The Virgo is pure energy, yet docile, waiting for the light. It is suddenly changeable into a new form, from gas to water to ice. Virgo consists of inert, dark matter, or "lazy" molecules looking to be catalyzed. In the black world of space, inert matter can explode with color when sparked into action. The Virgo is in search of the agent of its own change. Virgo is roiling untapped energy, looking for ignition. Virgo seeks the enzyme, the electrical charge, the magic spell to awaken the power of the Virgin and put her to work. The Virgo is like a fluorescent light, dark hydrocarbons, cold, lifeless, but add an electrical charge, a magnetic field, and Virgo and entire galaxies light up with a brilliant reaction.
Virgos require partnership even though they come to hate its restrictions and leap beyond them. The same devotion that turns their darkness to light, also enslaves them to the flame. Balance is difficult to achieve. The Virgo is reactive, responsive, which makes this a female deity although what the Virgo does is very masculine. They turn the ethereal into the concrete. They are the makers and doers, the shakers and bakers, the drivers and strivers. The workers in the denizens of detail.
They are critics, craftsmen and creative inventors and mimics. They possess what Engels called the "endless ingenuity of the working class". They adapt to the material conditions of their day and place and make the changes necessary to exist, and thrive. But, they don't do it for themselves, they do it for others. For THE other, the found one, and the foundling. Virgo is the Magi looking for the birth of a new dispensation, a new order of things.
The Virgo is part of the largest demographic of signs, with 46 days to reproduce, they are the most populous sign, the proletariat, the masses. They are the clay that revolutionaries, priests, and politicians need to gain power. The Virgo needs to be kneaded, like bread they rise with yeast, they need to give themselves, body and soul, to their cathartic source, the invisible charge that wakes them up from being a frozen mannequin.
In space, Virgos are a star-making machine; on Earth, they can, like Pygmalion's sculptor, create a silk purse out of a sow's ear; or, like Doctor Frankenstein, a monster. Like a truth machine, Virgo reviews and critiques everything; she's an editor, a master of minutiae, and a nit-picker who can never be satisfied. The role of tyrant is not for Virgo, they prefer to act in the background. However it is the Virgo, whose long service is interrupted only by her disgust at what she has created, who inevitably topples the unwary dictator and exploiter. The Virgo is the plasma of revolution.
The Universe is made up of plasma, Virgo's humor is this volatile gas, and only when galaxies collide, do they light up the cosmos like the abstract art of a maniac science. The stomach is the universe in microcosm, food is the plasma, and the friendly ecoli bacteria spark the entire system into action. Inside every gut is the bacterial galaxy of the human body. For the stomach, it's the mix of acid vs. alkalinity.
The way to a Virgo's heart, and head, is the stomach. The message for Virgo: Own your own stomach, seize the means of production! You have to be the hands-on manager, not only of what goes INTO the stomach, but also what happens to the food when it gets there.

The Way of Virgo
"The Way is pure and clean--to detox and purge. The way of the Virgo stomach is to supply it with the necessary bacteria, the precious working class that toil day and night to digest the foods and divide nutrient from waste. If your stomach is a biological factory, it's like Toyota wants to produce the perfect car--your stomach and bowels' only purpose in life is to produce the perfect poop. The Virgo can tell everything from the bowel movement. This is the quality control for the stomach. The difference of one bacteria dominating the stomach over another can make a tsunami of difference to the Virgo, or anyone, for that matter. The bacteria are the difference between life and death, with all the furor and drama of armies at war, set marching to dominate the history of your health. Napoleon said: an army marches on its stomach. He was a Leo but he had a very practical make-it-happen type of military Virgo mind.
The Virgo is on the cutting edge of adaptation--the cutting edge of revolution. Thus she earns the name of Virgin--one with an ever-recurring ability to remake herself. But others can see this purification ritual as endless, pointless, and hurtful. The Virgo literally USES UP the energy in every relationship she has--she will never relent, however her eye is always on SPICA, the brightest blue star in the sky, the navigator's friend. Back on Earth, people make jokes about Virgo--the "support system of the asshole"--to taunt the fault-finding Virgo, but actually there's a kernel of truth in this. The Virgo DOES control the bowels, the digestive system, and, as a result of their proper function, the health of the kidneys. Poorly functioning kidneys are the sign of disease in Virgo (and everyone else!)
The Virgo seeks purity and perfection, two things that can never exist. She seeks perfection in herself before she judges others, and therefore is always frustrated. Like the vestal virgins, she worships only truth; hypocrisy is physically painful for the Virgo, at least in others. They abide by the simple ethic of honesty, they can afford it. Virgo seeks to be above reproach--so that her critical barbs are ever more painful for others. Her gossipy tongue is so hurtful that it can start a war--people will make life long enemies or friends according to which side you take in a Virgo dispute. War is the most difficult part of the Virgo life, and yet the most transformative. Virgo uses war to destroy what she hates in herself, hoping for a rebirth into a higher incarnation of herself.
The Virgo's search for flaws and her expert and withering critical eye is first applied to herself; then and only then does she use her sharp dagger on others. She is always testing others for their fealty, she has no instinct for being loved, love is life's mystery to her; she is always on thin ice and treads carefully, requiring assurance, acceptance and encouragement. Virgo seek consensus. Virgos are asking for your vote.
The Virgo puts other people above herself, by serving them and providing support. However, this is unsustainable. After a lifetime of having unlovable people feeding off her like vampires, she gets her fill, and spurns humans, and gibes her all to the animal kingdom, which she sees is pure, in its simple, natural, dependable ethic. This is where the Virgo finds true beauty and appreciation, and the end of her life cycle."
LIBRA - THE LAW (ZUBENSCHAMALI)
OCTOBER 31 - NOVEMBER 22
Today the Libra scales, used by the ancients to represent technology, give way to the computer, the smart phone, or the data base. This is the only sign that is neither human nor animal, the first and only machine of the Zodiac.
One day (if we don't destroy humanity by war and corruption) we'll have a utopian society where we'll have trusted members of society available, on call, to keep all sides of an argument in balance and settle disputes of all kinds. It will replace the antiquated judicial system we inherited from medieval times where truth is a product of perception and not fact. The fair witness, a Libra trained in law, will listen sympathetically to both polarities and render a judgment. These will be used as precedents for years afterwards since they'll reflect a humanity and style that will promote only the best in humans themselves, as the theory of the law has been addressed, as well as its practical application.
The problem with this is that Libras, so long a stand-in for their philosophy of peace, will fade into the background behind their good deeds, and become invisible. Libra can be as transparent or as obtuse as a law book.
Libra is all about redemption, rebalance, and reorganization. This is easily achieved, almost required, and it's then that life can begin again with each realization and new level of understanding. Each human has value, each relationship has merit so long as they meet the standards of civilized behavior. The sign of Libra was separated from Scorpio by the Romans to celebrate 100 years of peaceful rule by Augustus. The trick is that as Emperor he balanced his friends against his enemies to achieve stasis, and used the power of the Legions to make any other option impossible. In modern times, without an army, Libras can only rule through engagement and polemic.
The Libras are consumed with MANY relationships and even entertain those with lessor beings for the sake of diversity. As a youth they have little sense of themselves, and lose themselves in other people's causes. The cast of paramours and instant love affairs will take up quite the tale of sexual awakening, as Libras seek out all experiences as if they were collecting seashells in the sand. Attracted by the trends and memes of the day, Libra will always keep abreast of the news from the court; the office, boardroom, storefront or studio. Libra will bring sense and sensuality to his or her environment with the addition of beautiful objects and clothes, exotic oils and incense. They decorate their environment as if it were a showroom, and can turn a ratty dump into a fairy castle. This increases the social side of their nature, and gives them the inclination to associate with other people who may be awkward or sullied with imperfections. Libras will probably be more successful in this way than by working alone. Friendship, society, partnership, co-operation and association with others are indicated here as well as leadership and perseverance, not to mention sex appeal! The "lazy" side of Libra needs a lot of sleep, beauty, or otherwise. They are happiest with 12 hours on, 12 hours off. Since they rule the buttocks, Libras should work hard to keep them attractive, since they are known for beauty, front and back, in and out. The skin is also a watershed for Libra, theirs should be as smooth as a baby's butt! The health of the Libra is always in the balance, so they need to be very conscious of getting the right foods in the right amounts. For example, macrobiotic nutritionalists use 50% whole grains and 50% fresh vegetables (and fermented foods) as the foundation of health.

From the book of Libra:
"Some other person or other is likely to come into your life periodically to shake things up so that you can reshuffle the deck. These are strenuous times, when Libras are forced to make unwelcome choices, the nightmare scenario. But marriage can solve these problems, as will all of life's rituals and laws, and this is way the Libra is attracted to laws, by the state, and nature's laws--universal laws. Everything from criminal law to medical practice to chemical periodic to poetic license interests you, since it involves both creation and transgression of the rules. marriage and family are just a couple of the ways that you allow other to influence your life greatly. You are affectionate and friendly, and you have a love of beauty, ornaments, color, music or art, and you might meet with success in cultivating these. You should have good powers of perception and observation, and you are intuitive and critical but just. You are fond of travel and instant change. This position also helps to give cheerfulness, hopefulness, good humor and buoyancy, and the ability to sell others on your ideas. Danger from flattery, you are susceptible because you flatter others."
SCORPIO - REBIRTH (ANTARES)
NOVEMBER 23 - NOVEMBER 30
Pure and simple, this sign is the penis. Or the vagina if you are female. Or any variation thereof. The Scorpio is the visible, biological organ.
For the Scorpio, it does't really matter what sex or sexual birth-label, or physical body the Scorpio has, it's just a suit of armor to fool their enemies, or seduce their lovers. They are Knights-errant. They will only stop when they have drawn the lance into your soul.
Scorpio is Sir Gawain, a heroic fighter in the same league with Lancelot, but without his hopeless, unrequited love for the Queen. Scorpio's love is NEVER unrequited, because it takes place on a sexual, subterranean level where the accepted rules no longer apply. The Scorpio, once determined to joust with an opponent, to do battle, will fight only to kill his enemy the same way an ant would kill an intruder. Death itself is not enough. Whatever practical logic of total war prevails is the standard by which Scorpio gauges the victory.
This is why the Scorpio once dominated both her neighbors in the sky, Libra and Ophiuchus. The insect powers were insurmountable because of numerical superiority, nothing else, and Scorpio led and bled by this proviso. Thus the breeding and birthing chamber became the reason for Scorpio to live, to send their seed to the next generation, spawn a new greater generation, and defend the realm, the nest, or the headquarters.
Transformation is death for the Scorpion or death for someone else weaker. The Scorpion invented Imperialism, aggression that comes from a built-in need to build the empire. Every Scorpio is a warrior within the family, ready to make the family more powerful with a greater control of land and resources. When reaching the end of the border, it is war with "whoever will stop them."
They must transform or die, natures insists. It's the way the grasshopper becomes the locust. Bred for war, the locust also lives for the moment, for combat, the rush of total annihilation and scorched Earth.
From the book of Scorpio:
"Scorpio's power comes from the genitals, and is expressed through their interest in ALL THINGS sexual, of which porn is just a category among many. The reason that sex is so irresistible to Scorpios, is that because of other's shame and constrictions, it is the MOST repressed part of our natures, beyond anger, pain or fear. The orgasm has got to be the most personal visitation with the genitals that one can have; yet it also unites us with every other human being. The Scorpio, unafraid to act on this understanding, can plumb the depths of your taboos, your lusts and conjugal imagination in a minute because they put nothing past others that they haven't already explored themselves. They hold the nerve ending of our engorged erectile tissue, our most basic equipment for the survival of the nest. Scorpio has the power over sex, they don't fear it or the consequences--which is death. Once they have fulfilled their mission, their carcass is just taking up space. Their usefulness over, the Scorpio will dutifully turn himself over to be the food for the next generation."

OPHIUCHUS - THE HEALER (RASALHAGUE)
NOVEMBER 30 - DECEMBER 17
Ophiuchus' are passionate and intense individuals. They may gain attention through creating dramatic situations. They may also be secretive. These are all tendencies blamed on Scorpio, for whom they have an intimate understanding. Scorpio is their mother, the larval pupae that gave them life. In Ophiuchus the insect has transformed into an dragon. The fledgling has grown into the Eagle.
They love power, and can be spell binding, but may prefer to perform behind the scenes, or behind a veil of ambiguity. They are able to make or break a group with your support and others can come to depend on them. They are secretive, but curious of other's weaknesses. They want an absolute oversight on the people near to them for fear of betrayal. Assimilation into society is difficult; they are a stand-alone, stand-out, often persecuted or scapegoated as a youth. Or they may have achieved a certain notoriety for being an anarchist or a prickly pear, a snake with a poisonous bite. The mood swings can be very intense, depending upon the Moon's position, since Ophiuchus is ruled by the 13-month lunar calendar. Ophiuchus is the birth of the new from the old, the emergence of the bird from the nest or the snake from its lair, the paragon of untested power to rise from the darkness to the light, from the rubble of war. This is the ego at its most vulnerable time, a painful, anxious period when one lands on their feet naked, a stranger in a strange land.
This ironically marks the Ophiuchus as crazy, uncooperative, even dangerous in modern society. Ophiuchus Sun means the person feels beyond society's norms, like a sorcerer-herbalist and her potions, a law unto herself, a savior and protector for those entrusted to her care. Since this is the sign of the witch, the native Ophiuchus will harbor a natural affinity for secrets, potions, omens, conspiracies, cats, astrology, psychology, and the midnight hour. They are alert to intruders and don't like being exposed or uncovered. They have speed and unerring aim and a snake's poisonous fangs. They can be political fanatics, and despise organized religions. Both males and females sometimes establish or join covens, semi-secret affinity groups devoted to making magic or visions. This sign is like the C.I.A., a shadowy organization that manipulates information to control the masses. Ophiuchus is an ethereal, mentalist sign; their grasp of physical events and the mechanics of the material world is very limited; they simply have no interest in how things work, or what can go wrong in the conventional world. Ophiuchus often is pushing a vision of reality that does not seem possible in the real world, as experienced by the rest of humanity. Often the Ophiuchus is of two minds, even two appearances where one sex can disguise themselves as the other, or disguise their sexuality completely. As with all of Ophiuchus traits, this is still only a shield to confuse the gawkers, the deepest parts remain unknown.
SAGITTARIUS - THE HERO (KAUS AUSTRALIS)
DECEMBER 18 - JANUARY 18
All great heros have weird and awkward beginnings. Sometimes they are treated like total rejects and losers, even by family and friends. The native with the sunsign Sagittarius can be misunderstood until their quest for glory is over and they have faded into history. What they do, they do for history, for the future, and they can give all and demand all for the cause. Sagittarius is the hero, the shining example, who works for the whole, without regard to their own legacy, and who ultimately reaches the heavens--the idealized world they have created in their own forge. This is all according to our mythical understanding of the power of mutation and natural selection in nature. The Sagittarius is mixture of human and animal, yet is neither. The power of the hybrid surpasses all the contributing elements, and so the Sagittarius is an eclectic mix of many schools of thought with an ability to see things in the macro, and relate religion, philosophy, politics, and psychology into direct, fiery action. He may even be a puzzle to himself and need counseling and spiritual strength from his or her own band of heroes. Sagittarius is fearlessly seeking the mysteries of the cosmos, the eternal fiery flux of the birth and death of stars. To waste that fire in their lifetime would be a crime. Sagittarius may face the moment when they either decide they must fight fraud and corruption, or be its perpetrator, or victim. When no-one else will step forward, the Sagittarius will fill the void. To lose the ideal, the utopian dream, the mental vision would be death for Sagittarius, even though the sturdy body may carry on.
The Sagittarius closely corresponds with the myth of Chiron. This adds to the sincerity, candor, frankness and (excessive) honesty of their nature, and tends to make them just, humane, benevolent and sociable, but blunt. It will help them to gain friends and acquaintances and to win the confidence of others, by whom they will be much influenced, and they will influence them in turn. They are companionable, and their natural instinct is not to live alone but to associate a good deal with others, and they have respect for the forms, customs, and conventions of society. There is some amount of reckless, thoughtless, useless impulse in their nature, and at times they can destroy their entire credibility with a silly lie. They would be better liked if they cultivated forethought, humility, and prudence.
They have much hope, belief in the power of humanity to rise up to higher knowledge, and their activities all have a political coda behind them, unconsciously or not. Without vigorous physical exercise or sports their body will atrophy. Their tendency towards erratic connection with your body can cause them to ignore its symptoms of trouble. Their diet is ultimately their most important challenge since they must eat what their body needs, not what they want. In this and other ways they can be differentiated, disempowered, divided, and dissipated. Their fire comes from their believers, and if they deceive them, they rob themselves of their honor. Luckily, they can usually hope for Jupiter to help them out with confidence and keeping sight of the big picture. They are original and inventive, and capable of working in a field they love that expresses their vision and hopes. This is why the Sagittarius dominates marketing, sales, psychology, and politics way beyond their statistical representation. The heroes are the last hope of salvation, and we count on them to lead the way, to help us be as strong as they are, to be inspired by them, to help us march forward with fire in our hearts seeking the one and all.
CAPRICORN - THE BOSS (DENEB ALGEDI)
JANUARY 19 - FEBRUARY 15
Capricorns are almost always RIGHT. We NEED them. Capricorns have managerial strengths and a powerful sense of values. This is why their leadership, friendship, or affections can be oppressive and insufferable. They often win in the end, and that’s what scares the competition. Caps do their homework before the test. When you go into the board rooms of wealth and leadership and meet the power-brokers themselves, they are likely going to be predominantly (Sidereal) Capricorns. Several U.S. presidents were Capricorn, including Abe Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt, and Ronald Reagan.
The sea goat is the most resolute, starts at the bottom and ends up on top of the heap. Oprah Winfrey is a classic Capricorn story, she met with opposition throughout her early career. All the network suits sabotaged and belittled her but in the end, she not only triumphed over them, but built an entirely new network of her own inventing a position to satisfy her ambitions. Most Capricorns also drag a lot of other less ambitious, less talented people with them thinking all the while that these passengers, as it were, are superior to them. Capricorns are filled with scorn for anyone that doesn’t listen to them. Eventually, heavy responsibility comes their way, even though they don’t want it power will be thrust into their hands because of their competence and abilities.
Capricorns think the same thoughts over and over until they get them right, or until someone corrects their mistake. Capricorns don’t take anything at face value, they question everything especially untried ideas and methods. If you come at them with high hopes, optimism or hype, they will shoot you down and remind you of all the reasons why it won’t work. They know too much to explain it all.
Who else is so well grounded (Earth sign) and can own it so completely? Who else can employ delayed gratification so well (patience is the virtue of Capricorn)? And who has such lofty goals and also such a strong sense of destiny that they won't publicly acknowledge them? Capricorns are the surprise package, the goodies are saved for last. He who laughs last, laughs best. The Capricon can relish the total immersion in pleasure with the triumph of power.
If you fall in love with a Capricorn you are in for a rough period at the beginning because Caps need to have respect for those who love them. Capricorns have a built-in bullshit detector so you better be coming at them with the real thing. If it’s just a crush, they will pop the balloon before someone else does. But when Capricorns drop their defenses and open themselves to love, they can insulate you in a blanket of security and a sense of belonging. If Capricorns don’t easily express passion it’s because they haven’t met anyone powerful enough to break their routine. Your time is rewarded when you feel the certainty of Capricorn’s unconditional love. It is truly without limit!
From the Book of Capricorn:
"Think of a clump of Earth and then realize all the energy, the fertility, the life forms it supports, all the complexity of the universe that could be mistaken for plain dirt. Capricorn is the loamy soil of potential, slow growth and sure progress. You will inevitably rise to the top position--even if it takes years. You have both ambition and patience. This position increases the gravity and seriousness of the mind, and tends to thoughtfulness, reserve, and self-control. You spend your energy cultivating forethought, prudence, and tactfulness. You are desirous of power and are fitted for acting as a head or ruler over others, although you would also make a faithful servant and worker or manager as an apprentice. You will gain more by methodically and quietly working with a given end in view than by excitement or hurry. The job of reckless agency isn't for you. You can only slow done the decision making process and can find yourself at odds with events outside of your control, which can paralyze you. This may also tend to isolate you somewhat at times either through the force of circumstances or because you adopt an attitude of reserve, superiority and distance. You need to cultivate cheerfulness and resist any tendency to depression. The main thing is to relinquish control once in a while for happiness to be yours before you're too old to enjoy it."
AQUARIUS - THE WANDERER (SADALSUUD)
FEBRUARY 16 - MARCH 11
This sign represents the higher love --according to Plato-- the "fraternity" of liberté egalité fraternité. Aquarius stands for all three, and he or she lives the 11th house credo, where friendships are the only criteria, no bonds to bind beyond mutual affinity. Aquarius is not connection through kinship, marriage, race, religion or ethnicity, it's friendship. Only through a comradely and collegial relationship can you ever know the freedom that Aquarius needs to flourish in all relationships. The Aquarius lives for friendship. These are their diamonds and jewels, all they ask of life since most Aquarians can live quite ascetically. Being in the friendship zone with an Aquarius isn't bad, it's a privilege and a gateway to more. Here is where they draw their best cards, their lovers, confidants, and heroes. When friendship matures to commitment, Aquarians become uneasy and are likely to yearn to return to the less complicated lifestyle of adventure. The backbone of an Aquarius depends on their independence where other fixed signs draw their strength from the material, visible world, Aquarius only has the wind, the mist, and the hurricane from which to map his or her future. It may be said that Aquarian's contributions to the world are written in the wind, a message for all humanity. As fragile as these visions of utopia are, they have the greatest overall impact because of Aquarian's stubborn defense of them throughout their lives. Of ALL the signs, Aquarius is the most stubborn because they are uncontrollable. The Aquarius is like a low pressure area weather system that won't be dispelled, that hangs over us like an inescapable fact: You can't do anything about the weather, and you can't do anything about Aquarius! This may be maddening to others. Aquarius can be a breeze, a miasma or rolling thunder. Anything air can do they can do and the Aquarians are quite content to never change this basic state of being. You have to accept the Aquarius as they are: everywhere and nowhere, the one and all, the ineffable.
Uranus is the planet that will help lift you up in the world, to bring you before people so that you will know many people and be known to many. Uranus is the bolt of lighting, the revelation, the latest news, the highest vibration of the Aquarian principle of spreading their knowledge. Uranus, like Aquarius, cuts to the bone, the surgeon's knife of singularity. One cut, one truth. Yet the truth from the Aquarius does not cultivate the negative sides of the other fixed signs: fear, fight or greed, as with Scorpio, Leo or Taurus. This position broadens both the mind and the feelings and the Aquarius follows where ever they may go without fear, malice, or the desire for personal gain. This can make the evolved Aquarius a free humane spirit capable of unlimited creative and intellectual abilities if they will only cultivate them. They are suited for a public life and would succeed better in some large sphere of action than in a smaller or more retired one. They can work in a giant system so long as they find their niche of independence. Otherwise they must forge their own group. They should have a good memory and be a good judge of character and human nature to help them accomplish this.
From the Book of Aquarius:
"Aquarius needs freedom more than other signs, since it was taken away in their ancestral memories. In mythology, the young Aquarian herdsman was raped and kidnapped by Zeus, who brought him to Olympus as his personal man servant and sex slave. Aquarius has never forgot this humiliation, and will never be captured or enslaved by anyone--Aquarius will face death rather than give up freedom. Aquarian sexuality is a tightrope of integration and differentiation. They may be quite androgynous and refuse to be cornered into any sexual box. They may do without to avoid entanglement. There's an element of the grasshopper versus the ant in the Aquarian script. Solitary, until joined into a group of locusts, Aquarians don't dig holes or make nests, they fly across the fields, eating everything in their path, enthralled by their movement and nihilistic rapture. They may draw others to them, attracted to the blithe spirit; like the White Prince, whose virtue is unsullied. Aquarius must walk their own path, to their own drum. Without the exit strategy from others, the ability to fly away, Aquarius would be victimized and enslaved by a greater force, broken apart by the maze of complex social relations. As the wind forces it way through the mountains, as an act of will and nature, it will pass over, and around the opposition. Aquarius is sweeping over us, part of the larger ecosystem."

PISCES - THE EMPATH (ETA PISCIUM)
MARCH 12 - FEBRUARY 16
This position increases that side of human nature that belongs to feeling, emotion, and sensation and makes these active and important in their character. Pisces are able to sympathize with others, and are naturally humane, charitable, and helpful to those who are in trouble or sick. Pisces is Neptune, the masses. Many Pisces find themselves as care givers, or offering succor to people who can emotionally drain them. Enmeshment and loss of boundaries is a day-to-day occurrence with Pisces. If you have a hidey-hole, an escape door, or can physically dump the toxins that others leave in you, you can re-emerge strengthened with your truly awesome unconventional love. A Pisces who feels trapped and restricted is as helpless as a goldfish in a bowl. Yet the temptation, like all other losses of identity and avoidance of conflict, is too great, and the Pisces will succumb to a dominator or protector to make their choices easier. A sure sign that you are being victimized by bullies or tyrants is depression and dependance on escapism, avoidance, or medication, drugs, alcohol, etc. Worst case scenario is the Pisces who yearns for an out of body experience to escape the chronic infections they can't deal with. Those Pisces who avoid being netted or have leapt out of the trap can usually manipulate their way to power, and can find themselves as entertainers, actors, singers and working in the entertainment business. Since they are natural mimics and very talented in their own right, Pisces have no trouble acquiring the skills necessary to bedazzle, bemuse, or bewitch their audiences. One has only to google how many (13-sign) Pisces are famous for their art, to see how they dominate this field.
They are easy-going, adaptable, and the perfect host, but they can be taken advantage of easily, by everybody and anybody, anytime. Pisces are too open to suggestion when young, and are often damaged for it. Their ONLY CHANCE at real success is the reversal of roles. The Pisces can turn the tables on their tormentors and become a diva --even a prima donna-- in his or her own right. They can emotionally control the people and the environment around you and can avoid being bullied by them as long as you please them. It's the story of Shahrazade, who avoids death with 1,000 stories to charm her tormentor. Using her skills to manipulate his feelings, she used passive aggression to meet the threat of death. If they don't mold people into the people they want around them, who are good to them--they will mold YOU to suit their needs, and abuse you.
It's really that simple, unless they can live as an emotional manipulator and embittered wannabe, there is really no mid-way, no balance, it's a tightrope and they are guaranteed to fall one way or the other. If they entirely act by instinct, they will be swallowed up and lose themselves to the mass, as a catalyst for the greater need and eternity. If they wait and prevaricate without direction, all will be lost, and they will be captured and dominated. Their only hope is to resolve to make what they want happen by acting on only those decisions which will ultimately help them find their path and stay on it. To find this path, they must acknowledge and act upon the guidance of their Moon's Nodes and what insights they can get from astrology, philosophy, psychology, and politics, or any other other field that does not limit their imagination (which is death for them). Intellectual understanding can root them in the real Universe, and make their powers enormous and viral. The evolved Pisces is a gifted leader, whom people follow blindly, not out of fear, or even respect--but returning to themselves the pure love that they have given.
The message to ALL Pisces is: find your thing, whatever it is, and do it with all your heart and soul--and force them to come to you, as if from a wellspring which they may drink. This is the DIVA.
From the book of Pisces:
"Pisces’ Neptune represents the mysterious subconscious. Quiet, fleeting emotions emanate from Pisces like mist from an ethereal lake, or sometimes furiously, like snow flurries in a blizzard. Pisces can reveal their agitation by roiling the emotions of others, and it is easy to engage and involve the unwary. Pisces' lovers become hopelessly dependent and possessive about Pisces, and try to domesticate and deconstruct the essence of Pisces’ emotions. Yet these are shrouded in an impenetrable Neptunian fog that erodes the barrier between the subconscious and the conscious. Everything is an illusion but for the moment. Love and music help Pisces feel joy, connection, lust, power, and, of course, sorrow. Pisces abandons itself in abandonment. Anyone watching Pisces run the gamut of emotions finds it overwhelming and excruciatingly intimate. The only connection that Pisces cans fully trust is love, and as that etherial quality is only for the dreamers, then Pisces dreams on and on."

PLANETS IN OPHIUCHUS
ASCENDANT IN OPHIUCHUS
The Spellbinder

With any of the angles touching Ophiuchus, the native can run a gamut of experiences, from innocent to suspicious, from angry to loving in a non-linear trajectory. The ascendant is a case in point. It's the gateway to our immediate surroundings, and therefore it exposes
the Ophiuchus vibe before there's time to stylize it and blend into the background.
Ophiuchus is the cradle and crisis of raw, unfiltered change; the trauma and the miracle of transformation. A native with Ophiuchus rising can find integration difficult; not many people can except such a dynamic presence in their world. When Ophiuchus is molting, changing their stripes, or spreading their wings, the world stands back with fear and disapproval.
Ophiuchus in the rising sign changes by location, so that ANY native, regardless of sunsign, will start to draw the negative attention that Ophiuchus/Medusa attracts from those who fear the exclusivity of the female. When women want to be alone, free of the patriarchy; men who are protecting their privileges will tend to become enraged and aggressive. Male or female, anyone with the Ascendant is in this unpredictable sign, will feel persecuted and judged in their environment, and so they will try to disguise themselves—particularly their sexuality, perhaps masquerading as the opposite sex—in order to avoid being labeled and disabled.

The dangers that Ophiuchus/ascendant senses are ever present, and real. After the initial rush of freedom, release and awe in rebirth, the Ophiuchus is pounced upon without any justification by the materialistic world into which he or she has been thrust. Their birth is immediately accompanied by an onslaught of predators. Ophiuchus, without having developed a magic strong enough to vanquish its enemies, must resort to subterfuge, disguise and chicanery. Only when the powers of Ophiuchus are enlightened, and they are able to forgive the trespasses against them, can they truly be free of the fear and bitterness.
SUN IN OPHIUCHUS
ISIS the Light Sister

The Sun in Ophiuchus is the celebration of Isis, the Egyptian goddess and sister/husband of the “King-of-Kings” Asir—also known as Osiris. When their jealous brother Set murdered and mutilated Osiris, it was Isis that put him back together, with the help and protection of their sister Nephthys, also the wife of Set. Osiris then became the Lord of the Underworld and his son Horus took over the world.

These indicators from ancient myth still determine some of the characteristics of modern Ophiuchus. The basic nature of Isis, as healer and protector, makes up the core value of Ophiuchus. Yet Ophiuchus is surrounded by enemies and detractors. So the native is a passionate and intensely altruistic individual, but operates in a cloud of ether, so as not to be targeted by potential assassins. Ophiuchus may be able disarm their enemies, or distract them, by creating dramatic situations. Ophiuchus Sun does not wait for fate; they are active and push ahead with plans and ideas, and are vulnerable in those moments. Exposure makes them nervous. That’s why natives are among the most secretive of signs—they can withhold information for decades, even lifetimes. Ophiuchus can be blamed for many of the tendencies blamed on Scorpio, with whom the natives have an intimate connection: Scorpio is Ophiuchus’ ancestral mother - the larval pupae that predates life. In Ophiuchus the burrowing insect has transformed into a mobile version; the nectar-seeking bee, the irrepressible butterfly, the Scarab beetle. The fledgling has been released, to perform its elemental tasks.

Ophiuchus natives love power for its protection. In any threatened position, the Ophiuchus creates a disguise, to baffle their enemies, which can appear like vigilantes to impede or stop progress or advancement. That’s why Ophiuchus prefers to perform behind the scenes, or behind a veil of ambiguity, shielded by others. The strength of character Ophiuchus infuses into a group, or coven, can make or break the group, and members of the group may come to depend on Ophiuchus for leadership without giving credit for where credit is due. Ophiuchus’ family and friends may resent some of her behaviors, such as the way these natives will collect others’ secrets and weaknesses without their permission. Ophiuchus only feels safe among others when they can achieve an absolute oversight over them; like the teacher who has eyes in the back of her head. Ophiuchus can have a history of people throwing them under the bus, so assimilation into society is difficult.
For the earliest age, Ophiuchus is a stand-alone, stand-out, oddity in the world, and the world doesn’t know what to make of it. For eons, people have destroyed what they feared, and every Ophiuchus carries this certainty with the, which is often instilled in them from a young age, when they may have been subject to persecution and punishment. As Ophiuchus develops defense mechanisms against such gratuitous animosity, they will cultivate an unwanted reputation for being an anarchist, a critic, a fanatic or a prickly pear. They are alert to intruders and don't like being exposed or uncovered. Ophiuchus is often depicted as a snake with a poisonous bite. The mood swings can be very intense, depending upon the Moon's position, since Ophiuchus is ruled by the 13-month lunar calendar, and the size and sign of the Moon regulates their abilities to suffer the indignities that await them in the unenlightened world that encircles them.

This, ironically, stigmatizes the Ophiuchus as crazy, uncooperative, even dangerous in modern society. Ophiuchus Sun means the person can be made to think of themselves beyond society's norms. Witches don’t ask permission to be witch. Ophiuchus is a witch-sorcerer-herbalist; a law unto herself, a savior and protector for cats and snakes, and damaged humans. This is just part of the repertoire. The witch, male or female, has a natural affinity for cooking, keeping secrets, snake-worship, healing potions, bad omens, arcane conspiracies, feral cats, psychology, astrology, darkness, mystery, and the midnight hour. They are also suspicious of everything on that list. Everything must pass a rigorous test, a gamut of doubts and ridicule. Few Ophiuchus can accept organized religion, or any over-regulated spiritual POV. Both males and females will instead of joining, try to establish covens, semi-secret affinity groups devoted to making magic or visualizing change.

Not all Ophiuchus are healers. Ophiuchus serial killers are testaments to the bowed and defeated version of this sign. In its overreach it can create a shadowy organization that manipulates information to control the masses. Ophiuchus is an ethereal (their element is ether) so is a mental sign; their grasp of physical events and the mechanics of the material world is very limited, they simply have no interest in how things work, or what can go wrong in the conventional world. Ophiuchus can have such confidence in their own powers that they are pushing a vision of reality that does not seem possible in the real world, at least as experienced by the rest of humanity. When thwarted, Ophiuchus can find the ability to make on-the-fly changes to get past obstacles. Often the Ophiuchus is of two minds, even two appearances, where one sex can disguise themselves as the other, or disguise their inner private life completely. As with all of Ophiuchus’ traits, ether is part of their shield to confuse the lynch mob.
From Secrets of Ophiuchus:
"Ophiuchus is the risen, reborn Scorpio, changing herself into the symbol of the soaring eagle, trading life for death; as snake eats tail, nature in its mystery is revealed, the place where unprecedented phenomena takes place to the incredulity of all. Ophiuchus belongs in an ethereal society, where female visualizations become man's miracles, the impossible happens, we can seize the power of the gods. Ophiuchus' message must be heard and acted on, immediately. Ophiuchus is the birth of the new from the old, the emergence of the bird from the nest or the snake from its lair; the paragon of untested but unrestricted power to rise from the darkness to the light, as if from the rubble of war. This is the ego at its most vulnerable time, a painful, anxious period, when you land on your feet, naked, a stranger in a strange land."
MOON IN OPHIUCHUS
NEPHTHYS the Dark Sister

For the Ophiuchus, the Moon is probably the most important celestial body, and definitely may have more influence than the Sun, regardless of the Sunsign. The secret world of women is a fascination for this sign, no matter where it appears in the natal charts of both men and women with Ophiuchus, but the Moon holds a special place, since it is the repository of all of Ophiuchus' emotions. Her moods are as polar as the Moon itself. People with this Moon position may have women as their role models and inspirations and the Moon represents the women in your life, who will be the mainstay of your relationships.

The circle of the Moon's transits is a woman's coven. Intricate rituals must be followed, there is a time and season for everything. wisdom is weariness. Natives may dress in unisex or disguise themselves as members of the opposite sex. Individually or as a group, Ophiuchus practice mind control, thought transference, and group dynamics. The Moon makes the native a master at such manipulation. This is the Moon of the shaman, the female deity and healer that knows the secrets of life and death.
To have the Moon in Ophiuchus is to be in touch with the goddess, the female power of Isis and Nephthys, who were able to bring Osiris back from the dead. This connection is the most primitive part of our nature, our inner reptile power, which is primordial. The two sisters represent the two sides of the Moon. Ophiuchus, like the Moon, is both sides of the receptive element. She is life and death, but death is the side we never see, or want to. There's a good reason that Man has been scared of Ophiuchus for thousands of years, and still is to this day. This Moon has cycle-driven and hidden, but rampant, sexuality, and uses the forces of nature to control other people's minds. Yet this understanding of the titanic forces of the Universe does not translate as an awareness in reality. Ophiuchus shuns reality, normality, materialism, and will minimize the importance of objective conditions, instead depending on willpower, secrecy, and myth.
VENUS IN OPHIUCHUS
Hidden Powers

Venus in Ophiuchus is the two sides of love, the head and the tail; adoration and possession. Here the loved person or object is also the disciple of Ophiuchus. Perhaps the natives with this placement hovers over their lover like micromanaging a child. Ophiuchus-Venus is an unbreakable bond for life. Love is the secret pact you make with your mate. The only way out is betrayal.
Ophiuchus is the face of Venus, its cloud cover and mask; it disguises the true surface of Venus which is seething with acids and poisonous gases. Ophiuchus in Venus is the rose with thorns, the exaltation of love, and its torment and termination.
In this placement Ophiuchus is in charge of money and spending, and she uses gifts as a sign of love; although she can be ruthlessly disciplined with herself as well as with others. As with other planets in Ophiuchus, wherever its placement, there are always changes going on behind the scene, and these natives are unpredictable in their affections and ability to enjoy life.
The Ophiuchus/Venus person can change from a caustic critic to the life of the party in a flash, depending on her need to control the reactions of others. When she is among those she trusts, she can be endlessly complimentary and charming. Venus/Ophiuchus can also turn to ice, and one stony stare from a venomous Ophiuchus can scare away potential partners or freeze them in their tracks.
MERCURY IN OPHIUCHUS
The Trickster

Like anyone with Ophiuchus in the chart and the right generation, this placement makes for a powerful Dungeons and Dragons player, an expert at strategy, planning and tactics. They are spellbinding. They can be tricksters of the highest degree. Basically, this is the sign of the sorcerer. They live to topple conventional wisdom. They mock authority. They have their own rules. They can come to believe that they have the power to save self-destructive people from their irrevocable conclusion; to serve the very low, to exalt them. This position entails a great passion for research and fact-finding, in the fields of sociology, psychology, politics, chemistry, and astrology. There can be, however, the tendency to intellectually dominate others, even to treat people as pawns before the person has learned respect for lesser beings. Like an adept, they can misuse their power before they understand its consequences.

The Ophiuchus has glorious moments where she or he is an unpredictable and original genius, and others when, in the gloom of her own anger and resentment, is too full of hate to create. The Ophiuchus’ mind is always connecting and linking far flung elements of history and science to create new concepts. However, many of these can't be realized because Ophiuchus is not aware of the obstacles involved, and isn't mindful of the mechanical nature of many endeavors. Ophiuchus believes in magic, not mechanics.
MARS IN OPHIUCHUS
The Snake

Mars in Ophiuchus is the female commander, who casts the so-called "evil eye" upon her enemies and immobilizes them. She is androgynous, in touch with each sexual modality in turn. Natives may cast away any restrictions or limitations on sex and sexual preference, living a secret life to satiate their pleasures, although they can also hold these desires in check for years before releasing them. They can cast a sexual spell over their lover and dominate them. Sex is part of the healing arts that Ophiuchus uses.

Mars-Ophiuchus can be alternatively beautiful and repulsive depending on who is describing her. The weapon of Ophiuchus Mars is poison and taboo. The symbol of the Ophiuchus warrior is Medusa, a Gorgon, the most fearsome of the female warriors. She controlled snakes and was the defender of the original female Temple, a sanctuary for women, and a center for healing and renewal, as well as a hospice for the dying.

Medusa could seize control of the mind with a single look. A friend to the oppressed, Medusa was the only human of three sisters, and according to legend, was transformed from a beautiful woman into a "monster" by a jealous Athena as a punishment for a sexual tryst with Poseidon.

Men have traditionally hated Medusa, as with all powerful female icons, and a propaganda war against her made her execution a foregone conclusion. As a Mars-oriented placement, the native with this placement is fierce in the defense of the political autonomy and free-wheeling sexuality of women, and anyone else who is persecuted for his or her lifestyle by the patriarchy and male supremacy.
JUPITER IN OPHIUCHUS
The Gypsy

Feb 1983- Dec.1984; Mar 1995-Dec 1995; Jan 2007-Dec 2007
This placement gives the native the power to magically make things appear bigger than they are, bigger than life. However, creating illusions to control, or influence people's minds can cause a backlash and cause isolation. The native will struggle to promote Ophiuchus ideals, and her sense of justice and protection of the weak and persecuted. Natives with Jupiter in Ophiuchus can find themselves an oracle that people come to for advice and healing.
As a symbol of the expansion of the coven, a female-oriented group, this Jupiter can transform any association with others into a movable feast. Natives tend to be a nomad with no allegiance to any nation or ideology. The native can initiate others into the healing arts and other hitherto secret knowledge. This is the sign of snake worshiping and devotion to the myths of ancient times.
SATURN IN OPHIUCHUS
The Crone
Feb 1986-Dec 1987
This is a test of the mysticism of Ophiuchus' esoteric powers. Are you really seeing and feeling the unseen forces and phenomena? This is a built in brake that sows doubt and difficulty into the expansion of the sphere of influence that the native would ordinarily enjoy. There may also be persecution from authority, courts, legal system, corporations or the state. This is the consequence of breaking of Man's unfair laws and selfish conceits.
This placement can also help the native to make a vocation or enterprise using the tendencies of Ophiuchus to heal and protect the oppressed. This is also a chance to develop a use for those powers in a corporate or institutional environment. This also indicates a long hard road to the top - you will hone your power and wisdom in the mature and later years. This is the sign of the Crone, or wise woman.
URANUS IN OPHIUCHUS
The Wanderer
Mar 1983-Dec 1987
This Ophiuchus position has a great portent during its four year stint in Ophiuchus. For this so-called hipster generation the placement means natives are the first born of the Uranian/Aquarian generation; so different than previous generations that you are thought to possess magical powers which could ultimately lead to ridicule or attack from detractors. Uranus in Ophiuchus brings us the truth, and so natives with this placement--as protector, shaman and Gorgon--listen carefully to the latest news and keep it circulating.

Suppressed for thousands of years, Ophiuchus has always had to face a day of reckoning, of dealing with the viral truth, the ironic meme and the flash mob. The more the thought is repressed, the stronger it becomes, as if by some inverse attraction. The older generations will never understand this generation. The Uranus-Ophiuchus will always be an outlier and wanderer, however, they will experience highly-charged emotions and transformation in their lives due to new ideas and instant communication. These people will hold many innovative jobs about change. They may experience a persecution during their lifetime.
NEPTUNE IN OPHIUCHUS
The Soul Singer

Oct 1974-Oct 1983
In a raw demographic way, this transit embodies the Gen X generation; too few in number to win but very influential and reflective of the digital age. They are the teachers and the visible tip of a giant demographic, numerically, of a new baby boom with a 70 million tsunami of kids who will overwhelm the old institutions in the 2020's. Neptune has eroded and washed away old ideas, politics, dictators, and has undermined fractious sectarian governments with a worldwide youth movement. The aim of this movement is to save the Earth. This wave of higher consciousness, peace and justice has swept the world like a whirlwind, blowing away the staunchest traditions and prejudices. Neptune represents the future, the dream, and a message of social values, environmental responsibility and sharing.

Ophiuchus have the ability to passionately pursue spiritual values, they will even die for them. You face a battle between the satiation of desire – stupefaction - and the desire for a spiritual way of life - the ascetic. This Neptune may play a transformative role in the world through non-violence and appeal to the masses, in an inspirational way. Neptune in Ophiuchus brings a new dimension into the collective unconscious: the dark powers, the inert matter, the unseen but deeply felt. This is expressed as music - the song of the self. You personally may be subject to dream, night fears, and requirement for escapism, be it in a few stolen hours of solitude or rigorous self-control to deny or cope with the torrent of negative and misleading information around you.
PLUTO IN OPHIUCHUS
The Legacy of Injustice
Feb 1998-Dec 2006
The era of Pluto in Ophiuchus was ushered in by the execution of a female murderer, Karla Fay Tucker, convicted of a drug-induced killing spree in 1983. Tucker said she experienced multiple orgasms as she beat her victims to death. In prison, Tucker found religion and became a Christian preacher. She physically and mentally transformed into someone that people could no longer associate with the killer; she was a savior, a healer and a teacher in prison. Nonetheless, the Texas state chose to execute her as if nothing had changed. Pluto in this position is the strangulation of the Ophiuchus; the death of the female and her rebirth. This is an era in which natural, female power has been denied, destroyed or bought and sold. Ophiuchus is being pressured, driven into a corner. Only Ophiuchus' strange and terrific talents over death and evil can save her now. Thus began the Pluto suppression of magic and the magician, the female spirit of darkness and mystery that is so complete that it can create a diamond from dust.
CHIRON IN OPHIUCHUS
Early Trauma
Dec 1999-Feb 2001
Chiron, the reject and outsider turned healer, may well be a female, or a male disguised as a female; another her-story changed into history. Ophiuchus is the mystic and protector of Man; a powerful female deity with power over life and death. Apollo taught Chiron all he knew about medicine and healing; Ophiuchus taught Apollo. Magic is the Ophiuchus' secret art. She has learned well from her mother and sisters. The mantle of shame, however, is also transferred. Chiron also signifies the wound that does not heal. In this case it's the Ophiuchus’ fear of being discovered and persecuted.
